We recommend you meet at Matamata I-Site if you go by bus since the final bus stop is near the Matamata I-Site.
We recommend you meet at The Shire's Rest if you drive a car since free parking is available and is closer to the Hobbiton Movie Set.

2. Daily Tours from Matamata I-Site (approximately 15 minute drive to Hobbiton Movie Set):
Departure point: the Matamata i-SITE, 45 Broadway, Matamata
Tours depart daily at 8:45 am, 10:05 am, 11:25 am, 12:45 pm, 2:05 pm, and 3:25 pm (additional time at 4:45 pm from 1 December to 28 February)
Please note that the optional lunch is only available for tours departing from The Shire's Rest for logistical reason. Duration for a tour with lunch is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours.
Child ticket: Ages 9 - 16 years
Children under the age of 9 can take part in this tour for free but must be included when booking.
Tours operate in all weather conditions; umbrellas are provided in the event of rain.
We recommended you wear comfortable, enclosed footwear and dress appropriately for the weather.
There is uneven terrain on the set but it is still wheelchair accessible.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend you book this tour well in advance (especially during the peak season of December - February).
Due to a large number of bookings and the changing departure times throughout the year, our booking system will automatically choose an available time within half an hour of your selected booking time, in the event that your original booking time is not available.
