Chill out at Rotorua's most active geothermal area and soak in sulphurous spas and natural mud baths!
The Hells Gate Geothermal Park features boiling hot pools and erupting waters with temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Celsius and New Zealand's largest active mud volcano. You'll see, feel and understand just why the Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw gave this land the name "Hellsgate". Hells Gate is the only geothermal attraction in New Zealand that produces three different types of geothermal muds, making it a truly unique geothermal mud experience.
For those who want to jump in, Hellsgate Spa is a historic spa experience which replicates the mud baths of 150 years ago. The spas still use the silky smooth grey geothermal grey mud from the geothermal park and the sulphur spas use the sulphur water from the "Hurutini" pool. This spa experience is totally unique and will leave your skin clean and soft to touch which can last up to 6 weeks.
Relax in these historic and unique spas and mud baths, book your Hells Gate experience today!
