See the spectacular scenery of Chillagoe Caves and outback Australia with this amazing full day tour!
Your fantastic day tour begins with a 4WD vehicle picking you up from your accommodation in Cairns CBD, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas (additional cost) early in the morning. You'll ascend the McAllister Ranges and head to your first stop at Skybury Coffee Plantation for a morning tea. Then you'll come to the famous Chillagoe Caves and delve into the history of the Chillagoe copper smelters. You'll have a wonderful lunch at a true Australian Outback Pub built back at the turn of the century.
After lunch, set off on the road for your guided Chillagoe Cave tour to take a step back in time to millions of years ago. Your knowledgeable guide will provide insight and explain the fossilized remains of the ancient coral reefs that are some 400 - 420 million years old. You'll then visit the Aboriginal Rock Art and the Balancing Rock. Be sure to check out the unique gift shop for some gifts of Chillagoe marble and local Aboriginal Art.
After the cave tour, you'll head back towards the east coast, stopping at Dimbulah for a comfort stop. Wrapping your day up with a visit to the Granite Gorge, to feed the wallabies and enjoy some tropical fruit tasting.
