Set off on a 3-hr Bay of Islands cruise in search of dolphins and other marine life. Enjoy the views from our catamaran Dolphin Seeker as we journey right to the end of the Cape Brett Peninsula, to the famous Hole in the Rock on Motukokako Island.
Board your cruise in Paihia or Russell, keep an eye out for bottlenose dolphins, whales and other marine life, and have your camera ready. If conditions permit, swim with dolphins for an additional 15 NZD per person. (May to Oct)
According to Maori legend, local warriors used to paddle through the Hole in the Rock in their canoes before departing for battle. Drops of water from the cave roof above were a good omen. If conditions permit, your skipper will expertly guide the ship through the narrow space and if you get dripped on, consider yourself lucky!
Address: Paihia Wharf or Russell Wharf
Recommend to bring hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and your camera.
Hot and cold refreshments are available for purchase on board.
The tour also includes one-way ferry ticket from Paihia/Russell to Russell/Paihia.
Passengers who did not view dolphins or whales will receive a 'go again for free' voucher on the Dolphin Cruise to the Hole in the Rock (lifetime validity).
If conditions prevent us from swimming with dolphins, a swim refund will be offered to those passengers who have prepaid to swim.
