Relax at Walter Peak High Country Farm and enjoy a cruise on the TSS Earnslaw steamship on this half-day adventure!
It is a leisurely 45 minute cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak, which gives you plenty of time to explore a piece of living history – the 105 year old TSS Earnslaw. Visit the engine room to see how the giant steam engines work. View the collection of historical photos in the mini-museum, check out the bridge and even join a sing-along with a pianist. Or, if you'd rather, kick back and enjoy a wine or beer or some café food at the on-board Promenade Café and Bar.
Upon arrival, take part in a guided walking tour of the farmyard and all its animals. Then it is time to learn more about the farming life and watch a sheep shearing demonstration. You'll also be treated to either morning or afternoon tea, freshly baked at the farm. If you've chosen the Gourmet BBQ Lunch then lucky you – a delicious meal at Colonel's Homestead Restaurant awaits you. Your menu features salads, vegetables and a variety of succulent meats cooked on the wood-fired BBQ. Vegetarian options are available and there are delectable desserts to make room for too.
Afterwards, it is time to board the TSS Earnslaw once again and head back to Queenstown. Enjoy the views of the region's spectacular alpine scenery as you cruise back to port.
