What to Expect
Travel reference:

Take part in this tour combining sights of Sydney Harbour with an open water whale watching cruise!

On this unique 2 hour 45 minute cruise you will encounter Humpback Whales and the occasional Southern Right Whales. You may also see other species including Minke Whales, Blue Whales, Sei Whales, False Killer Whales and more. You'll see typical whale behaviours including tail slapping, breaches, spy hop and even a close-up wink when they are feeling extra curious. Luckily, whales and dolphins often approach the vessel. In these situations, your cruise will slow down gradually, stop and wait until the animal moves beyond the approach zone.

This whale watching tour has a 95% success rate and a great guarantee. Very rarely a whale is not spotted during the cruise. In this case, your Whale Guarantee entitles you to another free cruise during the same season on a standby basis. How good is that?

FAQs ASK
  • Q:How close can you get to whales?
A:Hi there, thanks for your question. There are strict guidelines on how close vessels of all kinds, from kayaks to cruise boats, can approach whales. It also depends if there are calves in the pod and the number of vessels in the area. As a guideline, the approach distance can range from 100m to 300m. This however does not stop whales from taking matters into their own hands for a close look of us! At all times, the supplier operates with the safety and enjoyment of both the passengers and the whales. If you have any other questions, please send us an email at service@kootrip.com. Kind regards, Jenny
