What to Expect
Travel reference:

Come face to face with one of Australia's most fascinating creatures - the crocodile!

Your Whitsunday Crocodile Safari full day tour starts with a scenic cruise from Hamilton Island to Airlie Beach. On arrival at Airlie Beach, your coach takes you on a 40 minute drive through cane and bushlands to the campsite beside the Proserpine River. From there, you will be greeted by your friendly ranger guide who will provide you with a quick introduction.

Then, it is time to hop on a large flat bottom vessel that offers great viewing opportunities of these awesome crocs. Don't worry – you'll be safe on board! Your local guide will entertain you with funny commentary and help you spot these majestic saltwater crocodiles, as well as fascinating reptiles, birds and even the famous Queensland mud crab. Keep your eyes peeled and admire the beautiful scenery along the river bank. After your cruise, a delicious barbecue lunch is freshly prepared for you to enjoy at the campsite.

After lunch, you will take a trip on an open-air tractor train through the spectacular Goorganga Wetlands. Enjoy prime views of this wetland ecosystem and see the vegetation of the area in a different way. Learn about the vegetation and abundant wildlife from your expert guide. Then head back to the campsite to sample some traditional Aussie bush tucker - billy tea and damper! Then you'll board the bus to take you back to Airlie Beach, and transfer to a cruise back to Hamilton Island.
